Microsoft has unveiled a slew of videogames for play on smartphones running its new Windows 7 mobile software and said the devices will link to its Xbox 360 videogame consoles.

“We’re really approaching this as we would a console, so we have to deliver the breadth of games and the quality people expect from Xbox,” Microsoft senior director of mobile gaming Kevin Unangst said.

“We’re going to bring a set of high-quality games and experiences, all using Xbox Live, to bear at the launch of the Windows Phone 7.”

Xbox Live is an online community where people can play or get downloadable content using the Internet-linked Microsoft videogame consoles.

Microsoft used a major Gamescom conference in Germany as a stage to introduce 50 titles ranging from virtual board games to extensions of popular Xbox 360 action games.

Judging by the announcements at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona this week, 2010 is going to be the year of the Android. Google’s mobile platform was everywhere, with most major phone makers announcing new Android phones and a range of Android tablet devices and netbooks on diplay.

Manufacturers clearly value the open-source nature of Android, which they can customise to their hearts’ content. But Microsoft’s Windows Phone 7 is definitely a contender and it will be interesting to see what devices the phone makers can come up with by the end of the year.

Here are my top 10 mobile announcements and phones from the show:

Windows Phone 7 - There’s a lot riding on Microsoft’s next mobile operating system. For the last 18 months Windows Mobile has lagged newer rivals like the iPhone, BlackBerry and Android. Its market share has dropped.

Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer’s keynote speech at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas was dry and lacked major new announcements, so I was skeptical about whether Microsoft could pull it off in Barcelona.

The jury is still out as we wait until Christmas to see some final handsets but from the early Windows Phone 7 prototypes at MWC, it’s clear Microsoft has wiped the slate clean and started fresh with a new platform and a revamped, innovative user interface.

The demo version I saw was an early version and slightly buggy but i’m impressed with the tight integration with social networking sites and online email and calendar sites. The inclusion of Xbox Live for multiplayer gaming and a Zune music player puts it squarely in iPhone territory.

But Microsoft’s insistence on manufacturers keeping its tile-based UI may limit phone makers like HTC, which has done wonders to dolly up Windows Mobile 6.5 with its Sense interface. And the inability to upgrade existing Windows Mobile phones to Windows Phone 7 may frustrate those who recently shelled out for a 6.5 device.

Samsung Wave - Samsung is going out on a limb by introducing a completely new phone platform, banking on developers supporting it with enough interesting and useful apps to compete with iPhone and the open-source Android platform from Google.

It’s risky. But the 3.3-inch Super AMOLED touch-screen display is gorgeous and Samsung will have complete control of both the hardware and software, which has definitely been beneficial for Apple with the iPhone.

Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 mini pro - Looking at this handset in a picture is deceiving. While other smartphone makers are moving to bigger screens, like the HTC HD2’s giant 4.3-inch display, this one is tiny at 2.6-inch.The device measures just 90×52x17mm.

But big phones aren’t for everyone and Sony Ericsson makes it work with a good touchscreen user interface and the Timescape app, which puts friends’ Facebook posts, Tweets, messages and calls into a single stream. Other apps can be downloaded from the Android market.

HTC Legend - Most phones have a front and back that clip together but the Legend’s casing is machined out of a single block of aluminium. As soon as I saw it I wanted one. The Legend is an Android phone running HTC’s highly customised, intuitive Sense user interface.

HTC Desire - It’s not as pretty as the Legend but while the Legend has just a 600MHz processor, the Desire offers a much gruntier 1GHz chip. It runs the latest version of Android, 2.1, and features a 3.7-inch screen - the closest you’ll get to the Google Nexus One, which hasn’t yet been launched in Australia. The Desire will be available in Australia from Telstra in April.

HTC HD mini - Think of this one as a smaller version of the giant HD2. Like its sibling, the HD mini runs Windows Mobile 6.5 and includes the unique ability to launch a personal WiFi hotspot, which users can connect to on a laptop to browse the web over their mobile’s 3G network from anywhere.A very cool feature that I would love to see replicated by other manufacturers.

Samsung Beam - It doesn’t look like this phone will come to Australia any time soon but it’s worth a mention because it’s one of the first handsets to include a built-in projector for viewing content stored on the phone on any wall.

Samsung definitely gets points for innovation but the market for this one may be somewhat limited and the projector is only really effective in darker rooms. The battery is drained in about three hours with the projector on.

Asus-Garmin Nuvifone A50 - This is the fruit of a partnership between electronics maker Asus and GPS navigation specialist Garmin, so it’s designed to replace the GPS device in your car and double as your primary mobile. It runs the Android operating system but the interface has been completely redesigned to the point that it barely resembles other Android phones.

Sony Ericsson Vivaz - The Vivaz has a QWERTY keyboard and 3.2-inch touchscreen but, unlike most phones, is also capable of shooting high-definition 720p video and includes an 8-megapixel camera.

Motorola Milestone - Motorola has been extremely quiet in Australia over the last few years but i’m hoping it comes to market with the Milestone, which is similar to the Droid that Motorola launched in the US.

It runs Android 2.0 and has iPhone-like multitouch support, with users able to pinch the 3.7-inch screen to zoom on web pages, maps and photos. The phones comes with Motorola’s turn-by-turn GPS navigation software, MOTONAV, a slide-out QWERTY keyboard and a 5-megapixel camera.

Mike Dougherty is showing how u earn….For anyone looking to make a SERIOUS income online…

“I have finally cracked the code to making $1000/day and if you give me 7 minutes of your time, I will tell you exactly how I do it, and how you can do it too, step by step.”

Dear Friend,

This letter might upset you.
Click Here!and Find Out Howpossible to earn $1000/day

Why?

Because this letter will ignite your greed by showing you how you - yes, you - can make hundreds of thousands of dollars a year by following a simple set of proven money making steps.

Not only that, this letter will strike deep into the gut-wrenching terror we’ve all felt but are too scared to talk about…

What I’m talking about - and as you’ll soon see, learned from personal experience - is a terror so crippling it can end someone’s life in their early twenties - even if their heart keeps beating until their nineties.

I’m talking about the fear of SUCCESS.

Have you ever imagined yourself as a millionaire - only to think “No, it couldn’t happen to me”? Believe it or not, most people - myself included, until a few years ago - carry with them a deep rooted fear of success. In some cramped, dark part of themselves, a place so deep and hidden they may not even know it exists, everyday normal people are absolutely horrified of succeeding because - and this is the Gospel truth - they don’t feel they deserve to succeed.

This story - my story - is one that deals with facing this fear head on, and how I went from scrubbing toilets to a MILLIONAIRE in less than two years.

Are you with me? Then let’s roll…

The ENIAC was first developed back in 1949 and it took the world by storm. Originally, it was built to solve problems that would ordinarily take several months or years to figure out. This is why some of us use
computers today but ENIAC was build with a single purpose.
That purpose was to be the workhorse for the scientific problems of the entire nation. The Military were the first people who used this for their own needs, which benefited the nation in some huge ways. Even today, most of our up and coming technology is designed for the military first and then it is redesigned for the public.

This system actually was used to compute the firing tables for White Sands missile range from 1949 until it was replaced in 1957. This allowed the military to synchronize the lift off the missiles should it be deemed necessary. That was a huge step in military history for the United States at least on a technological level.

ENIAC was a huge machine that used nineteen thousand vacuum tubes and took up a whopping fifteen thousand square feet of floor space. It weighted nearly thirst tons, making it one of the largest machines of the time. It was considered the greatest scientific invention up to this point because it did in two hours what it usually took a team of one hundred engineers working normally for a period of a year to do. That made it almost a miracle in some people’s eyes and people got excited about this emerging technology.

ENIAC could make five thousand additions in seconds, which seemed very fast, by today’s standards that is extremely slow. Most computers today do millions of additions per second in comparison. That is a huge difference as any one can plainly see.

So what made ENIAC run? That task took many people to complete and took hours to set up. The people completing the task used board, plus and wires to program the desired commands into the colossal machine. They also has to input the numbers by turning tons of dials until the matched the correct numbers, much like one has to do on a combination lock.

In 1957, ENIAC was replaced with two more computers who were even more powerful then their predecessor. These two new super computers were called EVAC and ORDVAC.

In reality where computer were first invented as problem solvers, today’s computers are still used for problem solving but we modern day users use our computers for everything it seems.

Whether you’re filling your plate with low-fat, low-carb, or even healthy, nutritionally balanced foods, overestimating how much food your body needs is among the most common mistakes, experts say.
“Many people believe they should feel not just satisfied after a meal, but stuffed,” says Heller. “I think many of us have lost touch with the sensation of having had enough food.”
Adds Taub-Dix:

“People also tend to believe that they can eat larger portions if all the food on their plate meets the guidelines of their current diet — such as low-carb or low-fat — and that, of course, is also not true.”
The solution:
Remain conscious of portion sizes. Weigh and measure standard portions, at least at first, so you’ll know what the amounts should look like. And, says Brandeis, “never use restaurant portions as your guide — they super-size everything.”

A national fascination with low-carb diets has many Americans eliminating carbohydrates from their eating plans in record “grams.” But before you reconstruct your personal nutrition pyramid, there’s something you should know.

“There are carbs that are very, very good, and some that are less good, but your brain and body must have some carbohydrates every day,” says Heller.
Moreover, because complex carbohydrates (those rich in whole grains and fiber) keep you feeling full longer, they also help you to eat less — and lose more!
But eliminating this important food group isn’t our only carb-related mistake. According to dietician Rachel Brandeis, MS, RD, just as troublesome is the belief that all no-carb or low-carb foods are healthy, or that you can eat them in any amount.
“Much like the low-fat diet craze, where everyone thought that if a meal had no fat, it had no calories, similarly people have come to believe that if it has low carbs you can eat as much as you want and not gain weight, “And that is simply not true.” Eat enough of anything and you’ll gain weight.

The solution:

Experts say you should never cut any food group out of your diet — including carbohydrates. Equally important, says Heller, is to learn which carbohydrates give you the biggest bang for your nutritional buck.
“It’s a lot harder to run amuck when you are including carbohydrates like fresh fruits and vegetables and whole grains in your diet,” .

Some kinds of chocolate, rich in antioxidants called flavonoids, have been shown to benefit heart health. But all types of chocolate aren’t the same, and too much chocolate can negate any benefits, the Cleveland Clinic says.

Some kinds of chocolate, rich in antioxidants called flavonoids, have been shown to benefit heart health. But all types of chocolate aren’t the same, and too much chocolate can negate any benefits, the Cleveland Clinic says.

The clinic offers this additional information:

Dark chocolate is richest in flavonoids, so choose dark chocolate over milk chocolate.
Chocolate does contain fat, but it contains both saturated (unhealthy) and unsaturated (healthy) fats. Chocolate should still only be consumed in small amounts.
Processed chocolate is higher in fat and lower in flavonoids, so avoid candy bars loaded with caramel, peanuts, nougat and other fattening fillings.

From fruit juices to canned vegetable soup, breakfast muffins to seven-grain bread, it’s easier to think your food choices are healthier than they really are, experts tell .
“If a label says ‘Seven-Grain Bread,’ it sounds pretty healthy, right? But unless that label also says ‘whole grains’ it’s not necessarily going to be the healthiest bread choice you could make,” Heller says.
Likewise, she says many folks think that eating a can of vegetable soup is as nutritious as downing a plateful of veggies — not realizing how few vegetables are inside, and how much of the nutrients are lost in processing.

Another common mistake: Substituting fruit juices for whole fruits.
“Are fruit juices healthier than soda? Yes. But they are also concentrated sources of sugar that don’t give you anywhere near the same level of nutrients you get from whole fruits,” says Bonnie Taub-Dix, MA, RD. What’s more, says Taub-Dix, if you’re trying to lose weight, you won’t get the same sense of fullness from a glass of juice that you will from a piece of fruit.
“Instead, you’ll just take in a whole lot of calories — and still feel hungry,” Taub-Dix says.

The solution:

Whenever possible, eat whole, fresh, and unprocessed foods. Even when you eat them in smaller amounts, you’re likely to get a well-rounded group of nutrients. When buying packaged foods, put in at least as much time into reading labels and selecting products as you do when choosing a shower gel or shampoo.

“Don’t just assume a product is healthy — even if it’s in the health food section of the supermarket,” says Heller. “You’ve got to read the labels.”

Do you want to make it into a fun, cool bedroom, but without spending money on new furniture? We have some ideas for you to do just that - re-do your bedroom on a budget!- Coat of paint. Nothing freshens up a room like a new coat of paint. Make it into a weekend project and involve your kids - you can do something together, and at the same time, create a whole new bedroom that you need.

We don’t recommend painting the bedroom walls into bright colors. Beige, peach, light and pastel blues and greens work best. Make sure that your new wall color coordinates with your furniture, as you are not buying new furniture.

- Organize your bedroom. Sometimes all a room needs is organization, to look completely different. Many bedrooms are full of kids toys, old clothes and even dishes, that should be in the kitchen.

Put those items away, and organize the rest of the room to make it look very different.

- Rearrange furniture. Sometimes the best way to decorate without a budget is to use the same furniture, but rearrange it, and add something else into the mix.

Walk around your house - you will find a chair in the basement, or an ottoman in the family room, that will look great in the bedroom. Use those to create a whole new bedroom - with your old furniture.

- New wall art. Add a splash of color to the room with some new wall art (or borrow some art from another room). Another idea is to frame some of your kids’ drawings, or draw something yourself.

- New bedding, pillows, bedspreads. It is amazing how much you can change a room by adding just one new item to it. Pick some new bedding or a bedspread that you really wanted, and splurge on them! You will have a great looking bedroom in no time.

Remember, updating a room does not mean buying everything new for it. Use some (or all) of our ideas to completely re-do your bedroom. You will be glad you did.
